Tonight’s the Night!

A while back, I shared that I was cast in my first ever musical!

And now, after months of rehearsals, tonight is opening night! I’m very excited a little nervous, and overall, just feel great for stepping up and committing to this. It’s a cast of 18 of us, all wonderful people, lots of incredible numbers, dances and costumes. So much talent. And we’ve spent the last 9 1/2 weeks bringing this show to life.

So here it is, I’m heading out, on the stage. Theater was passion I had when I was in high school and the first chapter of college, yet I let it slip by the wayside as I went about life.

Have you had that? Something you loved to do back in the day, and that just hasn’t come into play again in adulthood?

Think back on something you loved in high school, or when you were even younger than that. Have you done it since then? Been in a play? Played soccer? Built papier-mâché crafts? Skipped? French braided your friend’s hair? Busted loose with a dance party in your living room?

I encourage you to take something you loved doing when you were young, and make it happen now. I mean NOW! Get to it, buster!

And I’d love to hear back from you on what that is.

Oh, and as for my musical, if you are in the DC area, here’s a link to get tickets to the show! We’re performing now through April 10. You can buy tickets online or at the door.

Here’s a preview of one of our numbers (from dress rehearsal) from the musical, Beautiful. Beautiful

Oh, and here’s one of the many costumes I wear. This one is one of my favorites, for a number from the musical, Chaplin.
